A spring-loaded thermocouple helps keep tips in contact with the monitored surface for accurate temperature monitoring.
Challenge: A Conax customer who monitors temperatures inside an implant tool came to us with a challenge. Repeated heating and cooling inside the implant tool were causing parts to move, resulting in thermocouple tips becoming detached from the monitored surface. The customer needed to find a way to keep the sensing tip in contact with the monitored surface while these involuntary movements occur.
Solution: To keep the thermocouple sensing tip in contact with the surface to be monitored, Conax designed a spring-loaded thermocouple with an off-set plug to allow for limited space constraints.
Impact: The spring-loaded thermocouple saves our customer time and money by enabling consistent, accurate temperature monitoring in an environment of rapid heating and cooling.
