Challenge: A Conax customer needed a Molybdenum sheathed thermocouple that could operate in temperatures ranging from 1200°C – 1300°C with accurately located thermocouple measurement junction. Any variation in the junction location within the sheath could affect the temperature reading of the reactor, potentially resulting in reduced productivity.
Solution: Conax provided a solution with an internal design that positively locates the measurement junction within the sheath. To provide redundant verification of the junction location, Conax X-rays each thermocouple.
