In high-performance 7F and 9F class gas turbines, exhaust gas sensors face intense thermal and mechanical stress. Under these conditions, standard sensors are prone to premature failure, often leading to costly downtime. As turbine temperatures rise, the radiation shield and sensor sheath expand at different rates. This mismatch creates a small gap between the seat in the radiation shield and the stop on the sensor, allowing vibration from gas flow and turbine operation to cause the sensor tip to break. We developed our exclusive Spring-Loaded Exhaust Gas Sensor to eliminate this common failure mode.
Each patented sensor includes a high-temperature compression spring positioned between two spacer tubes. This spring dampens vibration and maintains constant contact between the sensor tip and the radiation shield, preventing gaps from forming due to thermal expansion mismatch.
By keeping the temperature sensor tip firmly seated, the spring-loaded design provides exceptional stability—allowing turbines to run longer and more reliably without the risk of premature sensor failure.
